The living space of the paludarium comprises three (3) distinct areas :
Land area
The land area is a place with plants, trees, shrubs and rocks, which are never submerged. In regions with a tropical climate, a variety of invertebrates, reptiles and amphibians live in these places.
Riparian area
The riparian zone, or river bank, is the interface between land and water. This area is inhabited by semi-aquatic reptiles and amphibians.
Aquatic area
The aquatic area can consist of a stream, a pond or even a lake, which are home to turtles, aquatic amphibians, freshwater fish and shrimp.
Ideal for arboreal reptiles and amphibians, as well as live plants that grow tall. The rainforest terrarium is the perfect habitat for species that live high up or in trees as it encourages the animals to move naturally vertically.
