The Hurraw concept was born in 2003. At that time, founder Cyril Lemyre was involved in importing pet accessories. One of his clients then gave him a book called Food Pets Die For, by Ann Martin. Still in shock at what he had just learned, and after checking the references at the end of the book, Cyril Lemyre decided to try an experiment: make a dog food in which 100% of the ingredients are accepted for human consumption. In order to validate that this was not an isolated incident, Cyril Lemyre spent a full weekend in one of the largest flea markets in Greater Montreal in order to find the widest possible sample of owners of dogs with problems. health. After eight weeks of follow-up: the same results all the way! All the dogs that had problems saw them disappear. Faced with these impressive results, Cyril Lemyre abandoned accessories to start manufacturing pet food.
