Made with 100% human consumption ingredients
The Hurraw concept was born in 2003. At that time, founder Cyril Lemyre was involved in importing pet accessories. One of his clients then gave him a book called Food Pets Die For, by Ann Martin. The author goes into great detail about how the pet food industry works, explaining that the beautiful, fresh ingredients seen in advertisements and on packaging are not representative of the real ingredients used. Still in shock at what he had just learned, and after checking the references at the end of the book, Cyril Lemyre decided to try an experiment: make a dog food in which 100% of the ingredients are accepted for human consumption. If what is written in the book is true, then such food should give obvious health results.
In order to balance his 1st recipe, Cyril Lemyre recruited a nutritionist working at Parc Safari, a very famous zoo located in Quebec, Canada. He then made a first batch of food in order to test it on the dog of an acquaintance who had serious allergy problems. The dog had repeated ear infections, ate his paws, had red patches all over his skin. Additionally, he had lost almost 50% of his fur and was on cortisone from the vet for the rest of his life. After eight weeks on the food, all allergy symptoms were gone, and the cortisone was stopped.
In order to validate that this was not an isolated incident, Cyril Lemyre spent a full weekend in one of the largest flea markets in Greater Montreal in order to find the widest possible sample of owners of dogs with problems. health. After eight weeks of follow-up: the same results all the way! All the dogs that had problems saw them disappear. Faced with these impressive results, Cyril Lemyre abandoned accessories to start manufacturing pet food. Two conditions were imposed: 100% of the ingredients used had to be approved for human consumption, and the food had to be manufactured in such a way as to preserve the original nutrients instead of destroying them. the dehydrated raw had just been born!
How to Feed Hurraw and What to Expect
If possible, mix old food with Hurraw for 1-2 weeks.
Your dog may still be hungry at first since he eats less than he is used to. It may take a few weeks for his stomach to shrink and adjust.
Be careful not to overfeed it. Food is very nutritious, and giving too much can cause loose stools.
After the adjustment period, your dog may leave some food in his bowl because he doesn't require as much as before.
Smaller daily rations also mean fewer bowel movements at the end of the day.
The eating guide should be used as a starting point. Increase or decrease the ration depending on your dog's weight loss or gain.
The crumbs present at the bottom of the box can be rehydrated.
