HARI Clay-Cal Supplement offers pet birds the benefits of natural geophagy (the ingestion of soil or clay for their dietary benefits) in an easily usable supplement. Due to the low calcium content of the seed diet, it is recommended to supplement the birds.
Specially prepared for birds, this calcium-rich supplement ensures normal development and helps maintain healthy bones, nervous system, blood circulation, muscle and heart function.
The clay in Clay-Cal HARI supplement aids digestion by neutralizing pH, which helps bind toxins. Bentonite has a powerful adsorption and absorption power which makes it ideal for the total elimination of toxins, bacteria and other impurities in the body.
In addition, since this clay is an alkalizing agent, its high pH plays a decisive role in the body's ability to stay healthy and fight disease.

Feeding Guide
As a daily supplement
Mix or sprinkle 5 ml (1 tsp) of Clay-Cal Supplement with the bird's favorite fruits, vegetables or greens. Wet foods help ensure absorption of the clay as well as consumption of the supplement. In addition, up to 10 ml (2 tsp) of the supplement can be mixed with or sprinkled on extruded seeds or granules.
For passerines, such as finches, canaries or budgies, it is also possible to leave a bowl of the supplement for free feeding purposes.**
Add the supplement at least 3 times a week. Replace mix when soiled.
To provide a detox diet
Feed the bird the HARI 21 Day Clay-Cal Milk Diet. Mix 5 ml (1 tsp) of HARI Clay-Cal Supplement with 125 ml (½ cup) of water using a plastic spoon, or any other material other than metal. Let the mixture sit overnight. The mud will settle at the bottom of the container while a "milky" liquid called "clay milk" will float to the top. For detoxification, clay milk should be served to the bird in a non-metal bowl. Change the water daily. Repeat these steps for 21 days. Save mud (see advanced use).
Advanced Use of Clay-Cal Supplement
Mud poultice for wounds. The mud can be applied to the bird's skin as a soothing bandage to promote healing. This use is especially beneficial for finger and wing injuries where it is difficult to bandage. In fact, as it dries, the mud draws toxins away from the wound and thus speeds healing. In addition, the bird can peck the dry clay without danger!
