Exo Terra Tree Bark is an all-natural, biodegradable reptile substrate made from sustainable tree bark. This bark is ideal as a decorative substrate in terrariums for moisture-loving reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates from humid tropical climates.
The hygroscopic power of the bark naturally regulates the humidity level in the terrarium by absorbing the humidity and then releasing it slowly. The unique shape and size of the bark particles stimulate natural burrowing behavior and prevent crickets from hiding in the substrate.
To smooth and dust the bark, it is intensely polished, then it is heat treated to reduce bacterial contamination.
