How the Feliway works

There are 3 main types of feline markers

1 “Well-being markers”

When feeling good and happy, cats mark their territory by rubbing their muzzle against wall corners, furniture, humans or other cats in the house. In doing so, they release “ wellness markers ”. When present in the environment, these “wellness markers” reassure cats.

2 "Soothing Markers"

After the kittens are born, their mother gives them “ soothing markers ”. Released in the mammary area, these markers are naturally soothing and ensure a good understanding between the kittens.

3 “Territorial Markers”

By nature, the cat is a territorial animal. He likes to feel in control of his territory. He has his own way of making other cats understand what belongs to him. It scratches in visible places and leaves marks and “ territorial markers ” with its paws.

Did you know?

Cats communicate through natural markers that they release into the air (scientifically known as “pheromones”).

These odorless feline markers are only seen by cats, not humans and dogs.
