Feeding Guide
Feeding chicks with a syringe is recommended as long as the person responsible for feeding is able to do so correctly.

Hold the syringe in one hand and press it lightly to the left side, into the baby bird's beak. With the other hand, hold the bird's head and press your fingers to the corners of its beak. When the baby bird gives signs that it is ready to be fed (by repeated movements of the head), begin to feed it by injecting the mixture little by little into the back of the throat, on the right side. If the feeder does not feel comfortable feeding the chick with a syringe, use a spoon slightly bent to one side or the other. Particular attention should be paid to the chicks, especially their breathing, to prevent food from entering the airways.
Fill their crop while avoiding that it expands too much. A daily chart representing the weight of the chicks in relation to the amount of food ingested should be established and kept for future use. Allow the crop to completely empty between feedings. You can also use a small bent measuring spoon to feed the chicks by slowly dripping the food into their beaks.
The use of metal feeding tubes is not recommended as they may puncture the crop and esophagus causing the food to leak out. The dry formulation can be fed as a dietary supplement to lorises, finches, canaries and other small bird species.
