Mixing Instructions: Mix or gently shake one part KMR powder in two parts warm water (one part can be one teaspoon, one tablespoon, or one cup). Do not mix more KMR than can be consumed in 24 hours. Do not use a blender. Reconstituted KMR should be stored in the refrigerator. A 6 oz box of powder yields approximately 30 oz of liquid when mixed 1:2. A 12 oz can of powder yields approximately 60 oz of liquid when mixed 1:2. A 28 oz can of powder produces approximately 140 oz of liquid when mixed 1:2. A 5 lb bag yields approximately 400 oz of liquid when mixed 1:2.
Feeding Directions: All kittens should receive their mother's milk for at least 2 days, if possible. Colostrum provides additional nutrition and temporary immunity against certain diseases. Warm the reconstituted KMR to room or body temperature before serving. Feed kittens 2 tbsp (30 ml) liquid KMR per 4 oz. (115 g) of body weight per day. The amount of daily food should be divided into equal portions for each meal. Kittens' needs vary and it may be necessary to increase or decrease this amount, depending on each individual. Young kittens and/or weak kittens should be fed every 3-4 hours. Older kittens can be fed every 8 hours. Weigh the kittens daily to make sure they are well fed. Consult your veterinarian for additional advice. The 60ml (2oz) PetAg Small Animal Feeder is suitable for feeding most kittens. When the kittens are old enough to lap, start offering them reconstituted KMR in a saucer. During week 6, mix the reconstituted KMR with KMR 2nd Step Kitten Weaning Food. Using the KMR and 2nd Step will allow the kitten to gradually transition to solid food. Pregnant and lactating queens: Feed 2 teaspoons (4 g) of KMR powder per 2.2 kg (5 lb) of body weight. (2.2 kg) of body weight per day. Growing kittens already fed solid food, show cats and/or convalescent cats: Feed 1 teaspoon (2g) of KMR powder per 5 lbs. (2.2 kg) of body weight per day by covering food.
Storage: Unopened powder should be stored in a cool, dry place. Reconstituted KMR should be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Opened powder can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 months, or can be frozen for up to 6 months to preserve freshness.
