The Nutrafin Ammonia Test Kit (0.0-6.1 mg/L) measures ammonia levels in freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
Ammonia in aquarium water comes from fish breathing and droppings as well as the decomposition of organic matter, food scraps, etc.
A high proportion of ammonia in an aquarium, especially in a new aquarium, can be very toxic to fish as well as causing them stress. If nothing is done to reduce the ammonia level, it can result in the loss of fish.
To ensure stable ammonia levels, test aquarium water at least once a week. More frequent analyzes may be necessary in the case of a new aquarium or after having medicated its fish, for example.
The kit allows up to 50 tests
