Made in Canada, Fluval test kits accurately measure aquarium water parameters to ensure a stable and healthy environment for aquatic plants and fish. Since the water can contain harmful pollutants for the inhabitants of the aquarium, it is important to always analyze it before pouring it into the tank.

Why was my pH test kit result different from the in-store test result?
It is best to bring your water sample and your test kit to the store and perform both tests at the same time, in the same place, because the difference between the conditions in the two places is enough to change the pH. Also, there may have been excess air in your container, and the air changes the pH.
Is the effectiveness of the Fluval Ammonia Test Kit affected by ammonia neutralizing agents?
The Fluval Ammonia Test Kit uses the indophenol method (Berthelot's reagent) which is typically unaffected by ammonia neutralizing agents. Given the amount of such aquatic products on the market today, we cannot guarantee that this will always be the case.
Why did my aquarium pH skyrocket after changing the gravel?
It is to be expected that the natural gravel exerts a certain buffering effect, especially on tap water with a low carbonate hardness (buffering capacity). To obtain a stable pH, the carbonate hardness must be at least 30-40 mg/L.
