The underside of the leaves of Alternanthera reineckii 'Pink' form an effective contrast with the green plant of the aquarium, especially if the plant is arranged in a group. Intense light accentuates the red coloring of the leaves. The easiest way to propagate it is to pinch off the terminal shoot and plant it in the ground, which will also make the parent plant look bushy as it branches.
